This is a great aid in teaching participants the meaning of responsibility, accountability and commitment.
Classroom Connection works as an accountability contract among the child, parents and a teacher/principal to assist the child in developing skills and achieving agreed upon goals. It is designed to keep parents, teachers/principals up to date with a child’s progress in an area where a goal has been set to help a child develop a social or academic skill.
Few parents have daily contact with teachers and find it difficult to know how a child is progressing. When there is need for a more intensive connection and ability to monitor a child, while working on a specific goal this is a perfect aid.
Rather than waiting outside of the classroom each day to find out how the day has gone this will allow teachers the space to greet pupils and separate from them with their attention focused on the pupils rather than on the parents waiting to speak to them. Those moments are precious to teachers and pupils. So waiting for teachers, unless it is an emergency, is actually counter productive.
